I am looking for one-stop assistance for my mother, 86, lives on her own and is very stubborn about moving into assisted living.

Her social security is not enough to support her.

She has fallen several times, I suspect she hurt herself, but will not see a doctor for fear of being taken out of her home.

Her heating, insulation costs are too high.

She needs assistance getting chores done but cannot afford it.

I live 2 hours away.

I found out (she will only tell me) that she fell at home at night, could not get up, and slept in the hallway. I am very concerned.

She has not had a new mattress in ages and can't afford one, I suspect she doesn't sleep right, is there any way to get one?

How can I get her to cooperate?

I suspect she may not be taking her medications properly, all of a sudden she seems out of it.

I know this is a lot to ask, but I am a patient navigator for mental health and I know how organizations like yours can help work through the maze of information out there.

I live in Pennsylvania.

Thank you,

Jane

We offer you all of our best in this holiday season, and hope to pass
along some information that will assist you.

First of all, you need to investigative senior care services.  We
are affiliated with one of the best, and you can find out more at our
website here about how they can help your mother:

http://freeseniorcitizenssolutions.com/independent-living/185-sitter-city/849-sitter-city.html

Also, a Medical Alert system will allow you to have the peace-of-mind
so that if Mom falls again, she can get help at the push of a button.

We have found a company that will give you a system absolutely
free.  It costs $29.95 a month for the monitoring but there are
absolutely no upfront fees.  Click here to go to their website.

And as for your other inquiries, the best place to start is with your mother's local
Office of the Aging.  Each county in the country has an office like this that will
provide day services, transportation, and other needs for your Mom.  If you have problems
locating one for your Mom, send me her address and the county she lives in and I will get
you the information you need.

We hope this helps and wish you all the best.  Please let us know how you made out and if
we can assist you further.

Warm Regards,
